  3. It means that God is absolutely pure and totally separate from sin.

  4. Worship is acknowledging the truth about God to God Himself, with thanksgiving.

  5. This psalm is prophetic of the time in the future when restored Israel and saved Gentiles will enter Jerusalem's gates and the courts of the Millennial Temple with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.

DISCUSS/CONSIDER

  1. When we think of the awesome holiness of God, we can be even more thankful for the mercy He shows. Discuss the mercy of God described in Psalm 99. Give a testimony of a way God has recently shown you mercy.

CHALLENGE

  1. Shouting for joy might be a bit disruptive to your church services, but where could you shout for joy to the Lord? Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

KEY VERSES

  • "Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God is holy." Psalm 99:9

  • "Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Psalm 100
