ANSWERS

  1. The wall of Jerusalem had been rebuilt. Prayer, and hearing and obeying the word of God.

  2. Confession and worship

  4. The signers did so on behalf of all the people. They all were committed

  5. Commitment means obeying all of God’s law. It follows prayer and confession.

  6. Marriage, the Sabbath, and the House of God

DISCUSS/CONSIDER

  1. Are the focal points of commitment of the Israelites the focal points of commitment in your life? Would you be willing to sign a Commitment Contract with God? Would you be willing to accept God’s judgment if you failed in your commitment?

  2. Think of a firm commitment you’ve made in the past. Did you keep it? If not, what drew you away?

  1. Mark your appointment calendar for the next month, blocking out time with God each day. At the end of the month, take stock and see what God has accomplished in your life.
